cornwall opportunity fund
The University of Exeter is widely renowed for the quality of its teaching and the impact of its research. This reputation is borne out in university rankings which now consistently place Exeter in the top 15 in the UK and the top 150 in the world. Our Cornwall campuses in Truro and Penryn, home to 10% of our students, have contributed hugely towards this success, flourishing as distinct entities in their own right.
The Penryn campus is ranked in the top ten for student satisfaction by the National Student Survey, while centres for research excellence such as the historic Camborne School of Mines, the Environment and Sustainability Institute, the European Centre for Environment and Human Health and the Centre for Ecology and Conservation, put Cornwall at the cutting edge of discovery and innovation.
Over its first ten years in the county, the University's activities in Cornwall have generated thousands of new jobs and helped inject £491m into the local economy.
We are proud of all that we have achieved here and our Campaign builds on the University's commitment to Cornwall. We are determined to identify, attract and support the best and brightest students from Cornwall and give them the opportunity to study at a world class University. We cannot do this alone.
Will you help us?
By making a donation, you'll be contributing to the Cornwall Opportunity Fund, supporting our outreach work within the county, working with some of Cornwall's most promising young people and helping to unlock their potential. There are currently 180 Cornish students on our Exeter Progression Programme, receiving two years of support prior to them applying to university, and receiving a preferential offer if they apply to the University of Exeter.
The Cornwall Opportunity Fund will also support employability, helping students to make the best start in their working lives by providing travel and maintenance bursaries for those with the opportunity to undertake work placements, both at home and abroad, as well as providing Degree Apprenticeships, which will give local young people a debt free opportunity to train and develop their careers through Higher Education.
please make a donation to help provide life-changing opportunities to students in cornwall.
recognition of your support
To recognise your generosity we would like to offer the first 50 donors the opportunity for their name to appear on our brand new supporter wall, which will be displayed in the heart of the Penryn campus. Once we reach this target, this naming opportunity will only be offered to those who make a minimum gift of £240, or a regular gift of £5 per month.
If you are interested in making a regular gift and would like to set up a direct debit, please visit our website here .
