Chill Hill: 50 tonnes of snow, turning Forum Hill into a ski slope!

Chill Hill in summary

Embark on an adventure with Chill Hill on 17/02/2024, an extraordinary event that promises to turn Forum Hill into a ski slope for the day with 50 tonnes snow!

Picture a festival atmosphere where Forum Hill (Stocker Road) becomes the stage for an adaptive skiing exposition and adrenaline-pumping freestyle competition with students and professionals alike. Sledging down the hills brings laughter and thrills, accessible to all abilities. At Chill Hill, everyone is welcome, and the festive vibe is amplified by live DJs, tempting food and drink stalls, and a marketplace featuring snow sports-related items from huge brands.

Who are we?

Welcome to Snowsports Exeter, where a community of over 1,200 members embark on thrilling ski trips, exploring the picturesque slopes of France and Andorra. After an exhilarating day on the mountains, our legendary après-ski gatherings foster camaraderie and lasting memories.

Our commitment extends beyond the love of snow; we engage in adaptive ski training, race training, and freestyle training around the Exeter area, fostering a diverse range of skills. Our highly successful competition teams have achieved numerous victories in BUCs competitions, solidifying Snowsports Exeter as a hub for both passionate enthusiasts and competitive spirits alike.

Snowsports Exeter is not just about skiing; with a dedication to inclusivity, our club hosts engaging socials, making us the largest Athletics Union club on the Exeter campus. We are also proud supporters of Disability Snowsports UK, Protect Our Winters, and Movember, championing causes close to our hearts.

Our story

Snowsports Exeter holds the distinction of being the first university to establish an adaptive ski team, training every Friday and gaining immense popularity. Our commitment to this event is proven, as we've already secured £550 from our Fresh TraXs social in Welcome Week.

At the event there will be activities for everyone, including an adaptive skiing exposition, freestyle competition, and sledging. Your donation will play a vital role in covering the essential costs of the event, from snow and haulage to the fees for Jibworx and Event Exeter.

Anything raised in excess of our £5,000 target will go back to the Snowsports club to help us deliver more of these inclusive snow sports initiatives. Join us in fostering a more accessible and welcoming environment in the world of snow sports!
