A short summary of your project

I'm raising £250-£1,500 to help progress our development team into a 4th BUCS team which will benefit many of our women's football club members and the general growth of women's football.

Who are you?

I'm Izzy Smith the club captain of Women's Football at Exeter Uni 2025/26.

Your story

Having played football since 5 myself, I have seen the incredible growth in women's football so far, going from no all girls team in my home town to now being the leader of a 150+ female only member club. The Lionesses' Euros win has inspired me to keep expanding our club to accommodate for all abilities to play football.

Where will the money go?

We will purchase new equipment for the development squad as they currently share with BUCS teams. Any funding will also be put towards students gaining their coach qualifications, and paying coaches to help develop the players ready for BUCS leagues.

If the project is successful we will hopefully turn the development squad into an official BUCS 4th team next year, so more girls are able to experience competitive uni football and with the opportunity for more club members to join as another development squad can then be created.
