Golden anniversary tour

Our Project

Exeter University Singers are going on tour to Dublin! We are really excited to be planning this tour in our 50th anniversary year. We will be in Dublin, from 17th-22nd April 2020 and while there, we will be singing in a number of services and concerts in churches around the city. The highlight of the tour will be singing two services in Christ Church Cathedral. We're also going to take some time to enjoy the city while there!

Who are we?

Exeter University Singers is the University of Exeter's chamber choir. We were founded in 1969, making this year the Golden Anniversary of the choir. We sing a wide variety of music; in our most recent concert we sang pieces spanning almost 400 years, from 1619 to 2016. So far this academic year, the choir have sung for the installation of the Archdeacon of Exeter in Exeter Cathedral, performed numerous carol concerts for the public, and finally finished the term with our Christmas Concert. We are really excited to see what the rest of our 50th year will bring!

Where will the money go?

The choir is almost totally self-funded, meaning the vast majority of the choir's annual operations is paid for by its members, including all of this tour. We want to make the tour as affordable as possible to ensure that all who would like go are able to, so we are fundraising as much as possible over this term to reduce the cost as far as we can. As well as the obvious costs associated with going on tour, such as travel and accommodation, any money donated will also go to extra costs such as venue hire and buying music.
