For 50 years XpressionFM/ URE has been a hub for hundreds of students from numerous different backgrounds, all united by their love of the radio and the community that encourages them. A big part of our station's culture is meritocracy. At Xpression, you really can get as much out as you put into our resources.
However, the location of our current station has meant we cannot truly uphold our ideals to all Exeter students. Our studio is not wheelchair accessible by any means, restricting those with mobility issues from accessing our facilities. It is of high priority to both the Exeter Students' Guild and XpressionFM to fix this issue.
The Guild has agreed to work to provide our station with step free access; however, accessibility regulations require disabled toilets to be within certain distances of each other. We have had a derelict toilet that has not been used in decades (we won’t share a picture of this with you!!) that is taking up valuable space in our studio.

With your support we can work to renovate the current decaying toilet into an accessible toilet, to ensure that all students can come to our studio and use our station's facilities with ease and comfort. This will ensure that more students can build that foundation they need, in order to take their first steps on the pathway to a dream career.
A working toilet in the station will also make it easier during live broadcasts – running across Devonshire House to get to the closest toilet, and back again, before the song finishes can be a real challenge!!! – I am sure many of you can relate to this.
Thanks for taking the time to read this appeal and thank you for donating to support Xpression/URE in this special 50th Anniversary year.
