I hope the money will help towards finding a cure for dementia or help detect dementia earlier.
I am happy to give a small donation to this very important project.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this very worthwhile project.
Thankyou for your research. It is the saddest illness. Yesterday I found a gentleman with dementia, 92, lost and wearing slippers miles from home. He had got on a bus and then got off many miles away but didn’t know who he was or where. He had no keys but an old driving licence had an address so I drove him all the way back home and met the local police there. After finding a neighbour with keys I got him in and made him a cup of tea. The police traced his son who turned up and the gentleman said oh look it’s my dad! He was living alone in a lovely huge house and was still doing the garden, but I explained to his son how much he was like my mum who had dementia and told him he couldn’t be there alone. So so sad.
I am happy to be able to make a small donation and to be a part of the research.
Good luck in all the research
It's only little, but I hope it helps.
Together we will win.
This is such important research which can help every family across the world
I began taking part in Protect at 50. In the last 4 years both my parents have been diagnosed with mixed dementia. It’s so common we need to be supporting research of this dreadful disease.
Hoping that we can find out more about this horrible disease and a way to slow it down / prevent it The impact on family members is heartbreaking
I had a wonderful time at Exeter in the 1960s. Keep up the good work!
I wasn’t sure if this was a one off donation or regular payment?
Excellent research being undertaken by skilled and dedicated staff
Always happy to help a very good cause. Gina Neville
Happy to have been part of the Protect study for over 10 years.. Here's to the next 10 years
It would be useful to have the details needed for my tax form - the charity number and a reference for the donation, but maybe they will come in an email?
It is hearbreaking & exhausting dealing with this disease. GO the research
Great job you all do, one day we won't lose the ones we love twice.
I want to thank all involved for their efforts to try to find a solution to this devastating condition/disease.
All success in your work. I am watching a much-loved sibling deteriorate from Alzheimer's Disease, whilst the other sibling has vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. It is truly heart-breaking. I cannot but wonder: Am I next? This is why I am supporting your work.
Dementia is a horrible illness. It took my grandma, my mother-in-law and now it's taking my sister-in-law.
I'd like to continue to support research by answering your questions.
If relevant, please note that since last participating in surveys (some years ago !!), I have changed address and phone number: to those given in above missive. My own dementia was then only very mild, but is now quite advanced; hence my keenness to help further with your work with this donation. Thanks, MEA
Important work.
In memory of my dear mum who died of Alzheimers.
I want to support this important project as much as I can.
Keep going. So important to future generations. And Thank yiu
In memory of my dad who had Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia.
Hope you reach your target
This is such an important study
Essential that the good work continues. Hope this helps.
Very excited to support such a brilliant study and invest in something which will make a difference for all our futures.
I hope this work will eventually bring a deeper understanding of aging in the human brain so people will be able to function mentally well into old age. In March 2026 I was diagnosed as having Mild Cognitive Impairment. I hope I will still be able to continue being assessed.
I would like to continue participating in the research too, thank you
Thank you for all the work you are doing towards this disease
