An incredible opportunity for over 30 students

Help us return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with A Night at the Musicals in 2026! This incredible opportunity will allow over 30 students from Exeter to showcase their talent at the world’s biggest arts festival. The money raised will go towards essential costs like venue hire, tech equipment, and marketing — helping us make our dream of performing at the Fringe a reality and bringing the magic of musical theatre to new audiences

a dedicated, hardworking team

We are Exeter Spotlights, the University of Exeter’s musical theatre show choir. Our company is made up of almost 40 students, with 17 performers and a 9-piece live band, led by a 7-person creative team and talented production team. We are all students and all passionate about creating high-quality, energetic performances. A Night at the Musicals is entirely student-led — from choreography and musical direction to production and technical management. We are a dedicated, hard-working team aiming to make our mark at the Fringe!

Giving young talent a platform to grow

After three successful years performing at the Edinburgh Fringe — where we received multiple 5-star reviews — as well as a pre-covid history of high quality entertainment, we are aiming to make our mark once again in 2026! A Night at the Musicals is a fully choreographed, family-friendly show (ages 8+) featuring a huge range of classic and contemporary musical theatre numbers, from shows such as The Great Gatsby, Matilda, and Mamma Mia

As a university society, we rely heavily on fundraising to make this happen. Every donation, no matter the size, directly helps a group of emerging performers, musicians, and creatives get the professional experience of a lifetime. By supporting us, you are giving young talent a platform to grow, be seen, and inspire the next generation of theatre-lovers.

how will you help?

The money raised will cover critical costs such as:

• Venue hire and registration - the Fringe itself is a costly endeavour!

• Technical and equipment hire (lighting, sound, mics) - there's no point performing if we can't be seen and heard, and our talented production team deserve equipment as high-quality as their designs!

• Marketing and publicity - without which we would have no audience!
